When I left school, I had achieved two A Levels of which one was in Accountancy.
I joined a small accountancy in Dublin before moving to London to advance my career.
I qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1987.
My entire professional career has been in small accountancy practices dealing with all the tax and accounting issues to do with small owner managed businesses.
Over the years I built up a decent sized business and recently sold the practice and joined Diamond Outsourcing.
Away from work I have a keen interest in sort. I played rugby, cricket and hockey until the body could not take anymore. Now I regularly play golf and still ski once a year.
I have two sons, both international sportsmen and five grandchildren. I live with my partner Joan, who is also an accountant and good at golf, and finally, how can I forget our Labrador dog Candy, who keeps us very busy.
